A few bits and pieces.

"Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail."
Roy Keane

My gym membership ends soon and, after three years, I have decided not to renew it. Most of the exercises I do, I could do at home. Also, my personnal trainer, Marjorie, has agreed to continue putting together my strength and core training programs for me. There is a spare room downstairs that has a partly mirrored wall and this will become our gym. We are also buying a treadmill soon, a must when you live in my part of the northern hemisphere. Yay!

This means we have to start getting a few pieces of fitness gear. Finally, here are the pieced of equipment that I chose:
We have the resistance tube and the ankle/wrist weights.

Lifting 8lbs and working my abductor.

The adductor now.
Please, do not look at my form for guidance, I was trying to look at the camera and so I got a little twisted :)

The resistance tube is great for stretching. I got the medium resistance tube, but I would suggest the heavy resistance.

I'm really excited to add these two pieces of fitness gear to my new home gym.

Running update: I ran 10K yesterday and the knee and ankle did good. No ankle pain at all and only very mild and fleeting knee pain. I'm going to attempt a 15K long run on Sunday. Send happy knee vibes my way!

Cheers!

Great products, I love having a little home gym, it doesn't have loads in it but it has the essentials and it means we can train whenever we want! Have a great weekend :-)

If I got a treadmill, I would probably let my gym membership go as well.. but I like having the pool and going to the classes (bodypump, pilates, etc.). :)

So good to hear the knee and ankle are healing! Not sure if I could work out at home...to many distractions for me, but i really would love a treadmill at home. So fun to get new stuff and put a room together!

good stuff! Gym memberships, I always say that I donate $$$ monthly to my gym....however, I will be using my gym this winter, no more winter running for this chick (remind me I said that!) LOL

I have read Belong to Me and the other book with the same characters and LOVED them! And I also love Anna Quindlen. I waited a long time for this one!

Well you look GREAT in your swim suit!

Glad your knee is feeling fine. I would love to set up a home gym - maybe when my son moves out. Until then - there really isn't any space. I would love weights and a treadmill.

I have a partial gym set up for myself. All I need is a treadmill.

Yay for now ankle pain, that IS good news! The home gym is going to be perfect for you, you can just pop downstairs and do what you want when you want. Those ankle weights are something on my list - so glad you got them!! Good luck finding a treadmill. Get a good one cuz they are worth it!!

Good job on the 10k pain free and good luck tomorrow. You made the right choose continuing your training program at home. Beautiful pictures!

I have that same equipment and use it often, in fact the same exercises you show! You look great and it's good to hear the pain is on it's way out!

love resistance bands, and I love how you have a mirror set up in your gym, I rely on my reflection in the window!

My treadmill was the best purchase I've ever made...it's 8 years old and going strong (knock on wood)! The only reason I have a gym membership is for the pool...

I love having a home gym and the treadmill was just the best thing I've ever bought. I have some resistance bands too, but they are wearing out, so thanks for the review! Good stuff!

I'm glad that your knee and ankle are feeling better. :) I hope the 15K went well?

If I didn't have to swim year-round, I would love to ditch the gym (and the $100/month, ow).
Interested to see how it goes, because I think it can decrease one's motivation, but I don't see that being the case for you.
