If you are trying hard not to think about something, well that something is pretty much all you can think about. Like when you have to go to the washroom while you're running. Yesterday was my second 18K (11.2 miles) and mostly it went really well...except that at about kilometer 3 I realized I was going to need a washroom break (again). This was not going to be possible until kilometer 12! At first it wasn't too bad, but by kilometer 8, that's pretty much all I could think about. According to Garmin, kilometer 12 was my fastest :) I was almost there and I was pushing it! After that necessary, but very quick break, off we went for the last 6K...ahhhh, I could once again appreciate what a beautiful area we live in. Otherwise, it was a good run with uber hubby, who took a few pics during the first half.
I wore my running skirt for the first time on a long run and was a little worried about chafing...didn't happen! I was really glad, because I'm planning on wearing it for my half-marathon.
This is our bike trail...note that spring is back...snow is gone. The cool thing about yesterday's 18K is that, my splits were slightly faster than last week's 18K (Overall, my time was 3 minutes faster )...that's 2h8m10s. Yes, I was happy with that...

On Friday, Miglena and I went for a short run together after which we went to the spa for the rest of the day. It was great...we had relatively beautiful weather and we relaxed and enjoyed the nordic thermal experience, while chatting away. A wonderful day!
Hope you're enjoying a relaxing Sunday...Cheers!

You look so nice in your running skirt. I know that we will become health and happy old ladies...;). Thank's again for dinner last night, it was great beeing with the family. The red heart counter is great...With love & light.
Awesome job on the 18K! 3 mins is huge in just one week! Love the outfit. Absolutely adorable.
Great job!! Love the skirt.
You look adorable in your skirt! Nice work on an other 18k! Somebody's getting faster...
Ahhh, the spa. That sounded like fun. No snow and a skirt, it must be spring. I love it!
Have a wonderful week!
I'm so glad your skirt worked out because it looks so cute!
I love the outfit! Congratulations on the great 18k run!
Hi Anne, You asked me about my times. First have you raced much? My times are MUCH and I do mean much faster when I race than when I train. The adenaline and all the runners around you really move you faster. My times haven't varied a lot since I began. I don't hit overall PRs lately. So I go for the year. What I think is fast other people think is slow. But when I train I am often in the 10s and 11s and sometimes 12s on a long run when I am beat. My goal next time I train for a marathon -soon - is to train faster in the long runs, not fast but faster. Does this help? I can't say enough about how different racing is from training.
Also I love the running skirt. I want one but am worried it will be too short.
I love your running outfit, really cute! Sounds like you're well on track to your half marathon :-)
Nice Shakespeare quote too!
That skirt looks so cute! And nice job on your run.
You asked how I could walk so much and still come in under 2:15 in my half. Well, according to my Garmin I walk between 13:00 and 15:00 minutes/mile. In other words, I can walk pretty fast for short distances!
All work and no play makes Jack (or Jill) a dull boy (or girl).
I love to see those relaxed shoulder straight up and the arms pumping.
I'm proud of you big sis...
3 minutes faster on your 18K time? Nice! The bike trail looks similar to the one I run on. Don't you just love this time of the year as the trees are growing their leaves and the weather improves? Your running outfit is "stylish" and looks good on you. :-)
stylish and functional...VEEERRRY NICE
That is the worst feeling! You're so right about not being able to push it out of your mind.
Great run!
Love the running skirt! What brand?
You look so happy and confident in those pictures! Good for you. I need to try one of those skirts (they always look go on everyone else!) Cheers!
I feel your pain about the bathroom issue! Is it my age or four pregnancies or both but I can't drink more than a sip of water before a run! :)
Love your running skirt! Looks like you have buds on the trees there! Yeah!
Good night! :)
Super cute running skirt! Oh, I think you know you are really a runner when you have experienced the dreaded washroom dilemma. I'm glad it worked out okay! :)
you look great!
LOL! Nice job on the run and glad the skirt worked out for you.
I also had a toilet stop mid-run today. I love conveniently positioned toilets and I feel for you having to run 9k to find one.
Great run! You look very comfortable. You run in a beautiful area.
Great post and I love your outfit! Pink is always a winner with me. What brand of skirt is it?
Laura
Nice photos of you while you're wearing your black running skirt :) I think the bike trail which you showed is good for running because it would be a soft path. Have a nice run again! I'm glad you think that the Italian simple potatoe dish is deliciuos. Maybe you like it because a small part of you is Italian :) (I remember you lived near Italy and learnt Italian language).
cute skirt, I've been so curious about running skirts, but I have yet to take the plunge. I'm more of a spandex short person, because I'm so afraid of chafing.
Congrats on a great run!
I've noticed that we comment on the same blogs, so I decided to stop by yours and say hello.
I also have asthma and run, and there are a few challenges, but the asthma hasn't stopped me yet!
Love the running skirt!
That quote is the BEST!! Love it!!
Hi Anne,
Nice job on your run! I agree with everyone else...you are looking pretty hot in that running skirt and I love that pink running shirt:)
Great job building up the mileage. Nicely done
Aren't all polar bears white...
Glad to hear the weather is beginning to cooperate.
That skirt is adorable! I love running skirts!
I love how polite you are by calling it a "washroom" :) Having to go to the 'washroom' mid run is a sign of a legit runner!
Great running outfit. Your skirt has a nice kick to it. Cute.
Great run and your own photographer along for the run = bonus!
Cute skirt - you look awesome! Great runs. :)
that skirt's so cute. it's swishing so nicely! nice, nice job on the runs;-)
Great job on the 18k, and I'm glad your weather is finally warm enough for running skirts!! :)
The skirt is super cute! Glad it worked out well for you! The spa day sounds fantastic!!
Cute outfit! I also was worried about chafing with a running skirt on a long run. Somehow it just doesn't happen :)
