Three Things Thursday!

“Luck is believing you're lucky.”
Tennessee Williams

1. I am awesomer ;)
A little while back I won a cool sticker from Matty of Matty Run Run and this is the sweet message that he wrote on the back of the enveloppe.

2. Here is the very cool sticker I received:
I stuck it on the first page of my agenda...I love this pink unicorn!
Thanks Matty!

3. Here are some pictures of the Kahtoola Microspikes I won from Abby at Have Dental Floss will Travel. I have not been able to try them on to run in, because I can't run yet (PT continues). Soon I will be able to give you some feedback on how they feel out there. There is one small problem...they may not be so great for my Saucony's.
Note how they are squishing my shoe, which is made of very light material.

However, they do fit well on the sole, but the sole is very thin and I can really feel the spikes when I walk on the carpet. It may be different out there in the snow. They're like mini-snowshoes :)

They fit great on the Asics though.
Whether it's on the Asics or the Saucony's, these microspikes will not slip off while I run!
The fit is nice and snug.

The Asics are a thicker shoe and if that's the kind of shoe you are wearing to run, you will feel good in the Kahtoola Microspikes. Thanks Abby!

*Edit. As mentioned in the comments, these spikes may be more for hiking and climbing...I will also try them for that, because I can do that even if I can't run :)

I'll be back again soon...have a great weekend!

Cheers!

OK - those are some major spikes! Oh my gosh! As I have said, I use Yak trax and love them - but they are made of a spiral wire chain - but no spikes. It looks like they might work better on your Asics - I think it would bug me to have the toe area squished! I actually put them on a older pair of shoes, so that I didn't have to pull them on and off. I wore them this morning, and although I can tell I have them on -- they don't bug me.

Have a great weekend - hope you're healing! ;-)

Whoa! Those spikes mean serious business. I'm also a YakTrax girl but I bet those spikes would work better on really thick ice on really cold days. The YakTrax can't always handle that stuff.

Cool stuff! Of course, you were awesome before the sticker...does this make you be-awesome? :)

What a cool prize to win!!! Can't wait to hear how they do in the snow! I need to get me a pair!

That's one running accessory that I'll never need. Let us know how they go.

I can't imagine running with the microspikes on! I'm not so sure they are meant for that! I use them over my hiking boots for traction when climbing steep icy slopes.

Good luck with those. I'll never get the chance to try anything like that out... right now I am OK with that! Hope your PT continues to go well. Cheers!

Hmm, interesting... I guess I haven't tried them with road running shoes, which I tend to reserve for treadmill runs. I've only used them with my trail shoes, which obviously are a lot thicker. I hope they work okay!

It's an useful prize to win :) I look forward to reading how they do on the icy path.
Have a nice weekend!

Just as Char that is something we don't even get in our country. I think they are great though. I suppose most people will wear a "tougher" shoe like your Asics in ice/snow conditions. I really hope you can run again soon. Enjoy your weekend!

Wow, those spikes do look vicious. They put my regular ole YakTrax to shame. I have traction-envy.

That envelope is the ONLY reason my heel has been happy...I even wrote an entire blog post about it. Hehe!!!

Happy weekend, girl!

You ARE awesome!
Those spikes look rugged!
I have loved the bumper stickers I have gotten but don't quite know what to do with them! I may put them all on one paper, laminate it and keep them as an inspirational poster.

From another yaktrax wearer - those look tough!

I tagged you for an award on my page!

Wow! I've never seen these before. Be careful and safe with them. Isn't it nice to be grown up and to still get stickers once in a while that make us feel so good! Yes, Anne you are awesome! and if I could add inspiring!

What a great prize! I agree that they are probably better for hiking or walking- but those are fun things to do, too! Nice!

I have Yak Trax & yes they do squish my shoe but they feel ok when I run. I like the pink color, though. I love your header photo!

You look like you could kick some a$s in those spikes!

Thanks so much for the shout out and photo on your blog! The picture looks sweet and I hope it makes you awesome-er.

I also wanted to let you know that there's another contest happening now if you'd like to enter.
