Why my PT is rich!

"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does."
William James

Now, let me tell you why my PT's clinic is getting rich, mostly off me! The latest in my string of minor, yet annoying injuries is a pull of the ligament of the Large Adductor that connects to the pelvic bone.
My left foot slid slightly while I was running and I must have pulled in to avoid falling. This minor movement caused the ligament to pull and this pull caused the pelvic bones to shift and they are now not perfectly lined up. So, PT for a few weeks, plus exercises at home and who knows whether I'll be able to run my Hypothermic Half in 4 weeks. The PT did not want to commit one way or the other, "We'll see", she said. Yes, it's a she...I did not see Joseph this time, though I am at the same clinic. Here's why:
No, that's not me, but that's where the PT sometimes needs to work, so yeah, I got a female PT this time.
I'll keep you posted.

Coming up...I've received my Kahtoola Microspikes (yeah, I wish I'd had those a couple of weeks ago...could have avoided PT...except I hadn't won them yet :)) Oh well...I'll let you know how they go...and I'll post a pic. Plus, I've got an inspiring story to tell...that's coming up soon too!

Cheers!

I got my brother some of the runner's yaktraks for Christmas last year and he loves them... I've been thinking of picking up something grippy as well & will be interested to hear how the microspikes work. Hope your recovery is speedy!

I had some bad glute problems a couple years ago and at first it was hard to have my male MT dig into my bare bum...but I had been seeing him for about 3 years and had built a trust so it eventually became easier....but yeah, I'm not sure I could do a male in that area either either - hehe. Hoping for a very speedy recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you pull heals quickly. Stretch - stretch - stretch - I say that - but didn't follow my own advice today. Ran 6.5 miles - came home - washed off the underbelly and feet of Sophie - then hopped in the shower - dressed - ate a spinach salad - now on the web. NO Stretching - hmmmmmm!

I have Yaktrax and love them - they really work on snow and ice. I can feel them on my feet - but it doesn't bother me.

Take Care

I had that same injury in 2009, but mine was very bad, a partial tear, could not even walk. PT helped a great deal but it was still 6 weeks of recuperation, I bet yours will be much less. Get healthy soon!

Oh that stinks! But you are at least diagnosed and have a plan. Speedy recovery!

Great picture up there! That's pretty much what my runs have looked like lately.

I'm hope your leg is feeling much better soon. You're so good about getting treatment when you need it. I've been nursing my knee for a year. Ugh.

The PT has done wonders for you, it's only fair you keep them in business. And put their kids through college. Only fair!

I hate the inner thigh therapy. That's the one time I cannot relax.

Ugh... Definitely been there (with lingering annoying injuries and with, um, awkward injury location. I hope the PT's able to work her magic and get you back up and running for that half.

Glad the spikes arrived!

Sorry for the injury. Muscles recover quickest of all (vs ligaments, tendons and bones).

Yow...the photo was a shocker for a second there.

I was thinking your blog would have to be retitled "Running and the Gift of Testosterone" 8)

I didn't even know we had muscles around that bone but it makes sense, as does your latest round of painful running. I hope the PT works magic.

I'm so glad that you used the picture of hairy man-legs getting PT on a table to illustrate your current condition!

So glad that there's a deserving winner on the receiving-end of the CSN gift certificate. Be good!
